Grant

The Agricultural Investment Funding Program (AFP) in Hesse offers grants and guarantees to small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises for investment measures. It promotes modernizations and the acquisition of facilities that contribute to improving production conditions, reducing costs, and increasing added value. A special focus is on investments that pursue environmental, climate, and animal welfare goals or prevent damage from natural disasters.

Who is funded

The Agricultural Investment Funding Program (AFP) in Hesse primarily targets small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises as well as young farmers. The goal is to strengthen these businesses through investments that improve production conditions, increase added value, and simultaneously consider environmental, climate, and animal welfare aspects.

What is funded

The program supports various investments in agricultural enterprises that contribute to improving production, rationalizing costs, and increasing added value. Special attention is paid to measures that promote environmental, climate, and animal protection or serve to prevent damage from natural disasters.

Type and Scope of Funding

Funding is primarily provided in the form of non-repayable grants, supplemented by guarantees. The grant amount varies depending on the type of investment and can be increased by additional bonuses for special criteria such as animal welfare, environmental and climate protection, cooperations, or for young farmers. There are both minimum and maximum limits for the eligible investment volume.

Conditions and Requirements

Applicants must meet certain requirements, including proof of professional qualifications and submission of an investment concept with proof of financing. Cooperations are eligible under specific conditions. Furthermore, deadlines apply for the purpose-binding of the funded investments, as well as transparency and reporting obligations.

Application Process

The application for funding must be submitted in writing to the responsible district administrator before the start of the project. In the future, applications are to be submitted exclusively via the Hesse Agricultural Portal. The selection process takes into account identified needs for action and objectives to ensure targeted allocation of funds.

The Agricultural Investment Funding Program is based on the Guidelines for Individual Farm Funding Program (RL-EFP) from July 17, 2023. It is legally underpinned by EU regulations within the framework of the CAP Strategic Plan and national laws, as well as the Joint Task 'Improvement of Agricultural Structure and Coastal Protection' (GAK).
