Lighthouse in the Baltic and the North Sea basins – bringing sustainable algae-based products and solutions to the market

The overarching goal is to drive the development and market uptake of sustainable algae-based solutions to contribute to the health of European oceans and waters.

This funding program supports innovative and sustainable algae-based solutions and products designed for a variety of applications, excluding energy applications. Projects should address the entire value chain, from development and demonstration to market commercialization, while also considering cost-efficiency and circularity.

The program provides grant funding under the Horizon Europe framework, specifically for Innovation Actions. A total budget of 17,000,000 € was allocated for this topic in 2022.

Applicants must adhere to general conditions outlined in the Horizon Europe Work Programme General Annexes, covering admissibility, eligibility, financial and operational capacity, award criteria, and grant setup.
