Aquaculture and Fisheries – Sustainability

This program targets aquaculture and fisheries businesses in Germany that wish to invest in sustainability. It supports both small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and larger operations that contribute to increasing energy efficiency, reducing emissions, and protecting consumers.

The Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank program supports investments aimed at sustainability, especially in the areas of energy efficiency, emission reduction, and organic aquaculture. It covers up to 100% of eligible costs but excludes certain investments such as increasing fishing capacity or leasing agreements.

The program offers loans to finance sustainability investments in aquaculture and fisheries. Loans of up to 10 million euros per company per year can be granted, covering up to 100% of eligible costs. The program was limited until June 30, 2024.

Specific conditions apply to the application and implementation of the funding program. These include adherence to the De minimis rule, compliance with budget restrictions for processing fees, and the possibility of combination with other public funding, subject to cumulation limits.

Applications for the program are submitted through the borrower's principal bank, or in the case of leasing, through the leasing company. The terms and conditions are assessed based on Rentenbank's Risk-Adjusted Interest Rate System.

The funding program is based on specific program conditions of Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank and is subject to the EU de minimis regulation for the fisheries and aquaculture sector. Further information and official texts are available on Rentenbank's website.
