Funding for Nature-Oriented Structural Elements in Arable Farming

This funding program is aimed at owners of agricultural holdings in the states of Brandenburg and Berlin who manage their own farms. The goal is to promote sustainable agricultural practices that contribute to the improvement of natural production conditions.

The program promotes the establishment of nature-oriented structural elements on arable land to strengthen biodiversity and environmental protection in agriculture. This specifically includes annual and perennial wildflower strips as well as field edge strips.

Support is provided in the form of a grant, the amount of which is fixed per hectare and per year. The program is designed for a minimum commitment period of five years.

Participation in the funding program is subject to specific requirements regarding application, land design, and management of the structural elements. Regulations concerning aid and documentation must also be observed.

The application for funding for nature-oriented structural elements in arable farming must be submitted completely and in due form by December 31st of the previous year. Approval takes place after administrative controls and disbursement of funds after fulfillment of the commitments.

The funding program is regulated by a directive of the Brandenburg Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Climate Protection and is based on the framework plan of the joint task "Improvement of Agricultural Structures and Coastal Protection" as well as other EU and national regulations.
