Consultancy Services for Innovation and Technology Transfer Rhineland-Palatinate (BITT)

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a business establishment in Rhineland-Palatinate are eligible to apply. The program aims to provide these companies with access to the latest scientific, technological, and organizational knowledge to strengthen their competitiveness.

The BITT program supports a wide range of consulting services aimed at improving the technological and organizational performance of SMEs in Rhineland-Palatinate. This includes consulting on new production concepts, innovation and quality management systems, and IT introductions.

Funding is provided as a partial grant for eligible consulting costs. The maximum funding amount per working day and the total number of eligible working days within a three-fiscal-year period are limited.

The BITT program sets specific legal and administrative requirements for applicants and consultants. These include compliance with EU state aid rules, proof of qualifications for consultants, and detailed requirements for the documentation of consulting services.

The application for the BITT program must be submitted to the competent Chamber of Industry and Commerce or Chamber of Crafts before commissioning the consulting service. Following a positive recommendation from the Chamber, the approval decision rests with Investitions- und Strukturbank Rheinland-Palatinate (ISB). The disbursement of funds occurs after the submission and review of the billing documents.

The funding for Consultancy Services for Innovation and Technology Transfer Rhineland-Palatinate (BITT) is based on specific administrative regulations of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate and the provisions of the State Budget Code. Compatibility with the EU internal market is ensured through the application of the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER).
