Support for the Nomination and Qualification Processes of Members in Examination and Vocational Training Committees

The funding program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is aimed at employee associations and professional organizations in Germany, as well as universities, research institutions, and scientific facilities. The goal is to strengthen the voluntary examination function within the framework of the Vocational Training Act and the Crafts and Trades Act, and to ensure the quality of vocational examinations. The funding focuses on recruiting and qualifying examination personnel, as well as increasing their visibility and appreciation.

The funding covers projects in three central categories of measures: the recruitment of new examination personnel, the professional and methodological qualification of examiners, and the increase in visibility and appreciation of voluntary examination personnel. This aims to contribute to quality assurance in the conduct of examinations in vocational education.

Funding is provided in the form of non-repayable grants for a period of up to three years. The amount of funding varies depending on the applicant and the measure category, covering a large part of the eligible expenses. For qualification measures, fixed amounts per participant are provided.

Applicants must meet certain legal and administrative requirements, particularly regarding state aid regulations and collaboration in joint projects. Clear guidelines apply to budget management and the dissemination of project results.

The application procedure for this funding program is a single-stage process and takes place via the electronic application system easy-Online. Applications must be submitted by the deadline of October 31 of the preceding year for funding in the following year and must contain specific information on the project content and financing. Project selection is based on defined evaluation criteria.

This funding program is based on a specific guideline from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research from 2023 and is subject to the provisions of the Federal Budget Code as well as other administrative regulations and administrative procedure laws.
