Joint Task "Improvement of Regional Economic Structure" – Funding for Commercial Enterprises (GRW-G) – Large Guideline
The State of Brandenburg offers grants for investments in commercial enterprises, including the tourism sector, through the Joint Task "Improvement of Regional Economic Structure" (GRW-G). The aim is to create and secure permanent jobs, compensate for locational disadvantages, and accelerate the transformation to a climate-neutral economy. Companies can choose from various funding options and implement their projects by the end of 2025.
Who is funded?
The funding targets commercial enterprises and the tourism sector with business premises in Brandenburg. The goal is to support investments that contribute to the creation and securing of permanent jobs, compensate for locational disadvantages, and accelerate the transformation to a climate-neutral economy.
What is funded?
The program promotes investments in business premises that generate regional effects and support the stated goals. This includes both production and service investments as well as special transformation investments for the use of renewable energies. A variety of industries are supported, while certain costs and sectors are excluded.
Type and Extent of Funding
GRW-G offers grants as project funding, the amount of which depends on the company size and the funding area. Additional surcharges are possible for SMEs and in certain border regions, especially for transformation investments, which are rewarded with higher funding rates. A co-financing contribution from the applicant is always required.
Conditions and Requirements
For a successful application and funding, various legal and operational requirements must be met. These include achieving regional economic effects, a required own contribution, compliance with employment-related conditions, and specific quality certifications for tourism projects. There are also clearly defined exclusion criteria.
Application Procedure
Applications for investment grants must be submitted to Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB) before the start of the project. Timely and complete submission of documents is crucial for processing within the current fiscal year. The approval process involves a review by ILB and may include external expert bodies, followed by a phased disbursement of funds.
Legal Basis
Funding is based on the Law on the Joint Task "Improvement of Regional Economic Structure" and is specified by the "Large Guideline" of the Brandenburg Ministry of Economy, Labor and Energy. It also integrates European state aid law, in particular the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER) and regional guidelines, to ensure compatibility with the internal market.
