Burglary Protection Program

Private owners and tenants in Schleswig-Holstein receive grants for burglary protection measures on self-occupied residential property. The goal is to increase protection against residential burglaries through technical security.

Measures to secure residential property and rented apartments against burglary are funded, including burglar-resistant doors, windows, retrofit systems, grilles, roller shutters, smart home security, and peepholes, in compliance with minimum technical standards.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant, tiered according to eligible expenses. Up to EUR 1,550 per property/housing unit can be applied for, with a funding rate of 15-20%.

Important conditions include project commencement before grant approval, the use of tested security technology, and the exclusion of second homes, holiday homes, and weekend houses. A combination with other funding programs is possible under certain conditions.

The application must be submitted via the online portal of Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein (IB.SH) before the start of the measures. Approval is granted upon receipt of complete documents, and disbursement occurs after completion of the measure.

The Burglary Protection Program is based on the "Guideline for the Grant Program Burglary Protection for Self-Occupied Residential Property and Self-Occupied Rented Residential Properties in Existing Buildings" from May 18, 2022, and is limited until December 31, 2024.
