Funding for Coastal Protection Measures
The state of Schleswig-Holstein supports municipalities and special-purpose associations in coastal protection measures to protect coasts, islands, and Halligen from storm surges and land loss. The program promotes the construction and reinforcement of flood protection structures, considering climate change and an increasingly rising sea level. These are non-repayable grants of up to 95% of the eligible expenses.
