Last updated: 14.6.2025
Grant

With this funding program, Saarland supported the establishment and development of sustainable cooperative relationships between nursing schools, universities, and practical training institutions. The aim was to ensure the quality and security of nursing education within the framework of the nursing profession reform and to counteract the shortage of skilled workers. The program ran until the end of 2023.

Who is Funded: Applicants and Objectives

This funding program targeted educational institutions and providers in the Saarland nursing sector who wished to establish and consolidate cooperations within the framework of the Nursing Profession Reform. The main goal was to secure nursing education and combat the shortage of skilled workers through sustainable networking among stakeholders.

What is Funded: Measures and Topics

The program funded measures contributing to the establishment and consolidation of cooperative relationships between stakeholders in nursing education, including the setup of coordination offices and the establishment of training networks. Personnel and material expenditures directly incurred for the implementation of these cooperations were considered.

Type and Scope of Funding

Support was provided in the form of a non-repayable grant, the amount of which depended on the respective project. The funding was approved as project funding with fixed-amount financing, with a defined project duration until the end of 2023.

Conditions and Requirements

Specific legal and administrative requirements had to be met for funding. These included submitting a detailed project description with a financing and timeline, as well as the involvement of at least one practical training provider in associations. The overall financing of the measure had to be ensured by the state grant, with other public funds to be used preferentially.

Application Procedure

The application procedure required the written submission of an application form with a detailed project description and financing plan before the start of the measure to the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Women and and Health of Saarland. Approval was granted at the discretion of the authority and subject to available budgetary funds.

The funding was based on the Guideline of the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Women and Health for the Promotion of Cooperations within the Framework of the Nursing Profession Reform from June 7, 2022. This guideline regulated the granting of subsidies according to § 54 of the Nursing Profession Act and the state budgetary regulations.
