Funding for Forestry Measures under the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (ForstELERFöRL M-V)

This funding program is aimed at natural and legal persons who own agricultural and forestry land in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It aims to support the sustainable development of forestry by securing the utility, protection, and recreational functions of the forest and improving production, working, and sales conditions.

Funding is provided in the form of a non-repayable grant, the amount of which depends on the type of project and the eligible expenses. Up to 100% of the costs are covered, with upper limits per hectare for certain measures.

To receive funding, applicants must meet various conditions and requirements, ranging from compliance with guidelines to the submission of specific expert opinions and participation in information systems. Specific regulations also apply to the start of the project and the recovery of funds.

The application for funding must be submitted in writing to the approving authority before the start of the project. Specific forms and supporting documents are required, which are available from the competent forestry authority. Projects are selected after reviewing all complete applications received by specific deadlines.

The funding program is established by a specific guideline of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and operates within the framework of comprehensive EU regulations on the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) as well as the State Budget Code. These regulations define the purpose, the grantees, the eligible measures, and the procedures for fund allocation.
