Publicly Accessible Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles in Bavaria 2.0 Open

What is funded?
The program subsidizes the procurement and construction of publicly accessible charging infrastructure and associated grid connections in Bavaria. Both normal and fast charging points are funded. The measures also include replacement purchases and modernizations of existing infrastructure, provided added value is demonstrated.
Type and Extent of Funding
The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant within the framework of project funding. The total funding volume is 20 million Euros. The maximum funding amounts are set out in calls for proposals and can amount to up to 60 percent of eligible expenses, with maximum amounts depending on the type of charging point or grid connection. The maximum project duration until commissioning is 12 months.
Conditions and Requirements
Specific legal and technical requirements apply to the funding. The project may not commence before approval. The charging infrastructure must be publicly accessible, supplied by renewable energies, and remain in operation for at least six years. In addition, technical minimum requirements and online reporting must be met.
Application Procedure
The application procedure is single-stage and takes place electronically via the project executing agency's form system. In addition, a legally binding signed written version must be submitted within four weeks. The allocation of funding is carried out via separate calls for proposals, each setting deadlines and detailed requirements.
Legal Basis
The funding program is based on the funding guideline "Publicly Accessible Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles in Bavaria 2.0" of the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. The grants are awarded in accordance with the Bavarian Budget Code and are subject to EU state aid rules.
