Last updated: 13.6.2025
Grant

The Free State of Bavaria supports further training and coaching for women's representatives and gender equality officers in companies through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+). The program targets continuing education providers who wish to enhance the quality of gender equality work and improve the resilience of the officers. The development of new approaches for further training courses is also supported.

Who is Funded

This funding program targets continuing education providers who offer further training and coaching for women's representatives, gender equality officers, and HR managers in Bavarian companies. The goal is to strengthen gender equality work and improve the resilience of the officers. Funding is geographically limited to Bavaria.

What is Funded

The program promotes qualification measures, further training, and coaching for gender equality and women's representatives, as well as the development of new training approaches. Eligible topics include legal foundations, communication, leadership, application processes, and public relations in the context of gender equality. The cost structure and requirements for project development are also clearly defined.

Type and Scope of Funding

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant, comprising co-financing of up to 40% from ESF+ funds and up to 20% from state funds. Projects generally have a maximum duration of two years, with a minimum number of teaching units and participants per project.

Conditions and Requirements

Applicants and projects must meet strict criteria, including the professional and financial capability of the implementing body, adherence to timelines, a minimum number of participants, and compliance with general European and national principles such as equal opportunities, non-discrimination, and environmental protection. There are detailed requirements for cost accounting and publicity.

Application Procedure

The application procedure for funding is exclusively carried out via the ESF Bavaria 2021 online portal. Applicants can submit preliminary inquiries at any time, but must submit complete applications at least two months before the project start. Project selection is quality-based and conducted by the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labour and Social Affairs.

The funding is based on the funding guidelines 'Strengthening Equality – Coaching and Qualification' Action 1.2 from July 6, 2022 (version from January 2, 2024), which form the legal basis. These guidelines link European and Bavarian law, particularly regulations concerning ESF+ and the Bavarian Budget Code, to ensure compliance with relevant provisions.
