ESF Plus Guideline for Qualification and Reintegration of Prisoners 2021–2027

This funding program is aimed at approved labor promotion agencies active in the Saxon correctional system. The goal is the vocational qualification and social reintegration of prisoners in the Free State of Saxony to improve their employability and marketability in the labor market.

The program funds a range of projects for the vocational and social integration of prisoners. This includes both the transfer of job-relevant knowledge and skills, as well as socio-pedagogical support and comprehensive transition management.

This program offers financial support in the form of a grant that can cover up to 100 percent of eligible expenses. Projects are generally designed for a duration of 12 to 36 months, with a minimum and maximum number of participants defined per project.

Specific requirements apply to participation in this program regarding the target group, implementation location, and qualification content. In addition, there are precise guidelines for project size and budgeting to ensure effective and targeted funding.

The application process for this funding program is two-stage. Interested agencies must first submit project proposals by specified deadlines. Following a positive assessment of the proposal, an invitation to submit the full funding application will be issued.

The funding guideline is based on the Operational Program of the Free State of Saxony for the European Social Fund Plus and is supplemented by further legal frameworks that regulate the implementation and administration of the funding.
