Last updated: 14.6.2025
Grant

The "Qualified Training Support in Companies and Vocational Schools" (QuABB) program supports apprentices at risk of dropping out in Hesse. It offers individual counseling and support in cooperation with vocational schools and training companies to ensure successful completion of training. The program is an important component of Hesse's skilled labor retention efforts and is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).

Who is funded: Target Groups and Coverage

The QuABB (Qualified Training Support in Companies and Vocational Schools) funding program targets public and private legal entities active in the field of vocational education. The goal is to support apprentices at risk of dropping out in Hesse through comprehensive counseling and support services, thereby ensuring successful training.

What is funded: Projects and Measures

The QuABB program focuses on counseling services for the prevention of training dropouts. Funding covers the costs for qualified project staff and necessary material expenses that enable individual support and problem-solving for apprentices.

Type and Scope of Funding

The QuABB program offers grants to reduce the financial burden of training support. Funding is provided as co-financing with a fixed funding rate of up to 60 percent of eligible expenditures. Co-financing is possible through own funds or third parties, with certain personnel expenditures being eligible for recognition.

Conditions and Requirements

Participation in the QuABB program is linked to clear conditions, including cooperation obligations, specific qualification requirements for staff, and the implementation of quality standards. Special state aid provisions, such as the De Minimis regulation, do not apply to this program.

Application Procedure

Applications for the QuABB program are submitted via a project call, requiring both electronic submission through the WIBank customer portal and written submission. A detailed concept must be attached to the application.

The QuABB program is based on the ESF Funding Guideline for Vocational Education of the State of Hesse from 2023. Additionally, the Framework Guideline for ESF+ Interventions in Hesse (2021-2027) and the Guideline on Simplified Cost Options are decisive.
