Raising awareness of circular and sustainable bioeconomy in support of Member States to develop bioeconomy strategies and/or action plans

The program targets various European Union Member States, particularly those in Central and Eastern Europe, aiming to equip them with the knowledge and tools necessary for developing comprehensive bioeconomy strategies. It seeks to engage a broad spectrum of stakeholders, from policymakers to industry, to foster a collective transition towards a circular and sustainable bioeconomy in alignment with the European Green Deal.

Funding supports initiatives focused on raising awareness, knowledge sharing, and strategic planning for a circular and sustainable bioeconomy. Projects will address topics within bioeconomy sectors, promoting green transition and sustainable development.

This program provides grant funding specifically for Coordination and Support Actions, with a maximum allocation of 4 million euros for this topic. The financial support is part of the larger Horizon Europe call, facilitating strategic initiatives and collaborative efforts across the EU.

Applicants must adhere to general conditions outlined in the Horizon Europe Work Programme General Annexes, covering admissibility, eligible countries, financial capacity, and legal setup. Specific requirements for Coordination and Support Actions and broader Green Deal principles also apply.

The application process involved a single-stage submission, with evaluation completed by the European Research Executive Agency. Results have been communicated to applicants, and grant agreements are anticipated by June 2022.
