EU-Japan cooperation on the exploitation of Quantum Space Gravimetry data

This program targets scientists and legal entities from EU Member States, Horizon Europe Associated Countries, and Japan, emphasizing collaborative efforts to advance quantum sensing from space. The overarching goal is to support the EU space policy and Green Deal by preparing for innovative Quantum Space Gravimetry (QSG) missions and fostering international scientific cooperation.

The program funds research and innovation activities focused on quantum space gravimetry, including the development of algorithms and new applications for QSG data. All eligible costs are covered via lump sum contributions, with projects expected to be in the applied research and experimental development stages.

This program provides grant funding through lump sum contributions, with a maximum of one project being selected. The maximum funding available per project under this topic is 500,000 €, with Japan-based partners expected to contribute equally.

Applicants must adhere to specific consortium requirements, including mandatory Japanese participation, and general Horizon Europe conditions regarding proposal format and financial capacity. Projects utilizing satellite data must integrate Copernicus and/or Galileo/EGNOS services.
