Expansion of Geodata Infrastructure

This funding program is aimed at specific public institutions in the State of Brandenburg that wish to advance the expansion of the Geodata Infrastructure. Funding is provided for projects that focus on the processing of geodata and the creation of geoportals to ensure efficient access to spatial information. The measures must have a direct connection to the Brandenburg area and support the goals of the Geodata Infrastructure Berlin/Brandenburg.

The funding program supports investment and investment-promoting measures for the expansion of the Geodata Infrastructure in Brandenburg. The focus is on GDI-compliant data processing and the creation and equipping of geoportals. The aim is to make analog and non-GDI-compliant data usable and to create central access points for geodata.

Funding is provided as a grant in the form of full financing of eligible expenses. There are fixed minimum amounts that an application must reach. Measures must be completed by December 31, 2025.

To receive funding, applicants must meet a series of conditions. These include compliance with strategic directions of the geodata infrastructure, proof of added value of the data, and ensuring provision via the Brandenburg Geoportal. It is also important that the measure has not yet begun and that there is no cumulation with other funding programs. Special rules apply to the earmarking of funded items.

The application procedure requires the submission of standardized applications to the State Survey and Geobasis Information Brandenburg (LGB). Applications for data processing are possible immediately; for geoportals, they are possible from January 2, 2024. The LGB reviews the applications and decides on the approval of the grant. The grant is disbursed upon submission of proof of expenditures incurred, with a final partial amount of 10 percent only being disbursed after the complete and verifiable proof of use has been submitted.
