Federal Funding for Energy and Resource Efficiency in Business (Grant) – Support for the Electrification of Small Businesses (Module 6)

The program targets companies in Germany and aims to increase energy and resource efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Small businesses, in particular, are supported in switching to electrical energy.

A wide range of energy and resource efficiency measures are funded, including investments in cross-sectional technologies, the conversion to renewable process heat, and the electrification of facilities, especially in small businesses. The planning and optimization of energy processes are also eligible for funding.

Funding is provided either as a direct grant via BAFA or as a repayment grant in combination with an interest-subsidized KfW loan. There is no information on maximum funding amounts per project, but applications can be submitted until the end of 2028.

Applications must be submitted before the start of the measure. The program is subject to specific guidelines from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, which contain details on eligible measures and processes.

The application procedure is open until December 31, 2028, and is handled by the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA). Submissions must be made before the project begins.
