Investments in Elderly Care Nursing Schools and Former Schools

This funding program is aimed at operators of elderly care nursing schools in Schleswig-Holstein to ensure the preservation of school places in elderly care. The primary goal is to modernize and expand the infrastructure of these educational institutions to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in nursing and to achieve equal treatment in investment funding compared to general nursing schools.

The program specifically promotes investments in the infrastructure of elderly care nursing schools and former elderly care nursing schools. This includes measures for modernizing and expanding buildings, as well as the acquisition or new construction of school buildings to improve training conditions and meet the demand for nursing professionals. Land costs, pre-financing or interim financing costs, and expenses for equipment are not funded.

The program provides non-repayable grants to support investments. The funding is provided as a fixed-amount financing within the framework of project funding. The total budget of the program is 2.0 million Euros.

The approval of funding is tied to several conditions, including proof of sustainable need and the correct designation of any other funding. One of the most important conditions is that the project may not begin before the grant approval decision has been issued. Furthermore, appropriate reference must be made to the state funding, and the program is subject to specific budget restrictions.

The application for funding must be submitted in writing to the responsible ministry before the measure begins. The decision on approval is made at the discretion of the responsible authority within the framework of available budgetary funds.

The funding program is based on a specific guideline of the State of Schleswig-Holstein and is supplemented by general administrative regulations on the State Budget Code as well as provisions of the State Administrative Act. These legal bases define the framework conditions for the granting of subsidies.
