Funding for Measures to Cope with the Consequences of Extreme Weather Events in Private and Corporate Forests (FöRl Extremwetterfolgen)

Support is provided as a grant, both in the form of fixed-amount and percentage-based financing, and is subject to certain maximum limits and de minimis thresholds. The funding amount varies depending on the measure and applicant type, with financing primarily based on proven expenses or calculated lump sums.

The funding is tied to various conditions, ranging from the suitability of the areas to compliance with specific forestry guidelines. Special rules apply to cooperation in consortia, awarding contracts, and adherence to de minimis regulations.

Applications must be submitted in writing to the State Enterprise Forest and Wood North Rhine-Westphalia and require specific documents such as regeneration and action plans. Approval follows a review of applications by the responsible authority, and on-site inspections may also be conducted. Payments are made in installments based on the progress of the measures and proof of expenses.
