Measures for Close-to-Nature Forest Management, Development of Forest Management Plans, and Implementation of Forest Road Construction Measures (Forest Guideline 2019)
The state of Saxony-Anhalt supports forest owners in sustainable and close-to-nature forest management, the development of joint ownership and management models, and the improvement of forestry infrastructure. This support is provided as a grant, financed by the Joint Task for the Improvement of Agricultural Structures and Coastal Protection (GAK) and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). The program aims to strengthen the ecological resilience and economic performance of forests.
Who is Funded
This funding program targets forest owners in Saxony-Anhalt as well as recognized forestry associations. The aim is to support sustainable and close-to-nature forest management, the development of joint ownership and management models, and the improvement of forestry infrastructure.
What is Funded
The program supports a wide range of measures aimed at close-to-nature and sustainable forest management. These include preparatory work, forest conversion, soil protection liming, the creation of forest management plans, and the construction and fundamental renovation of forest roads. The focus is primarily on investments in the physical and planning improvement of forest areas.
Type and Scope of Funding
Funding is provided exclusively as a non-repayable grant. The amount of the grant varies depending on the measure and recipient and can amount to up to 100% of eligible expenses. For many measures, maximum amounts per hectare are set, which form the basis for calculation.
Conditions and Requirements
Funding is tied to specific conditions, ranging from compliance with forestry principles to detailed requirements for project implementation. Important aspects include non-accumulation with other public funds, adherence to public procurement regulations, and consideration of de minimis aid.
Application Procedure
The application process requires the written submission of complete documents to the competent Offices for Agriculture, Land Consolidation and Forests. The selection of EAFRD projects is based on a scoring system, whereby timely submission of applications must be observed.
Legal Basis
The Forest Guideline 2019 is based on a variety of national and European legal provisions. These form the foundation for the granting of subsidies and ensure compatibility with overarching legal frameworks.
