Funding for Integrated Municipal Development Concepts (Integrated Municipal Development Concepts Guidelines – RL IGEK)

This funding program is aimed at unitary and collective municipalities in Saxony-Anhalt. The goal is to support the development of rural communities through the creation of integrated municipal development concepts, which are intended to improve the quality of life, infrastructure, and sustainability in these regions.

The creation and updating of integrated municipal development concepts (IGEK) are funded. These concepts must include a comprehensive analysis of regional conditions as well as clear development goals and strategies, including a digital strategy.

The program offers non-repayable grants for financing integrated municipal development concepts. The amount of funding is tied to percentage rates and limited by maximum amounts, with financially weaker municipalities potentially receiving higher funding rates.

Specific conditions must be met for funding, including active citizen participation, adherence to a guideline for concept creation, coordination with existing plans, and the publication of the completed concept.

Applications for funding must be submitted in writing to the competent Office for Agriculture, Land Consolidation and Forests (ALFF). Approval is at the discretion of the authority and is tied to the fulfillment of the concept requirements.

The funding program is based on the Guideline on the Granting of Subsidies for the Promotion of Integrated Municipal Development Concepts (RL IGEK) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Saxony-Anhalt and is underpinned by a number of other state and federal legal provisions.
