Funding for Intermodal Logistics Nodes to Strengthen SMEs in the Logistics and Transport Industry
Lower Saxony and the ERDF support projects for the modernization of intermodal logistics nodes, especially freight transport centers and inland ports. The aim is to make freight transport more environmentally friendly and efficient, and to strengthen innovative SMEs in the logistics and transport industry. Who is funded?
This program by the State of Lower Saxony and the ERDF targets legal entities, companies, and institutions involved in the development or operation of freight transport centers (GVZ) and inland ports. Funding is provided for infrastructural measures for the further development of GVZs and inland ports, as well as the introduction of new handling and transport technologies and logistics concepts for efficiency improvement.

The program provides non-repayable grants with funding rates of up to 60%, depending on the regional category. Funding is provided as co-financing or as a lump sum for lower total expenses and is subject to state aid rules.

Applicants must carry out their project in the respective program area, demonstrate secured total financing, and meet certain quality criteria. Specific state aid rules and cross-cutting principles apply.
Application Procedure
Applications are submitted via the NBank customer portal. Approval is based on a discretionary decision and the fulfillment of specific quality criteria.
