Development of Renewable Fuels

This funding guideline addresses a wide range of applicants in Germany who wish to contribute to the development and market introduction of renewable fuels. The aim is to achieve climate targets in the transport sector and strengthen Germany as an economic location.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant and its amount and scope depend on the applicant and the type of activity. Different funding rates and amounts apply based on the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER) or the De Minimis Regulation.

The application and project implementation are subject to various legal, administrative, and coordination conditions, including requirements for project start, collaboration in joint projects, and compliance with aid rules such as the GBER and the De Minimis Regulation. Participation in public relations is also part of the requirements.

The application procedure is two-stage and begins with the submission of a project outline. After a positive evaluation, an invitation to submit a formal funding application follows. Submission is done electronically via easy-Online, and selection is based on defined criteria.
