Funding for New Concepts for Self-Determined Living in Old Age (SeLA)

The funding program targets project initiators in Bavaria who want to implement new forms of support and housing to enable older people to live self-determined lives in their home environment. The goal is to address demographic change and promote flexible, outpatient solutions.

Various concepts and measures aimed at enabling older people to live self-determined lives are funded. This includes both age-appropriate neighbourhood concepts and innovative outpatient approaches. Eligible expenses focus on personnel, material, and fee costs for coordination and public relations.

Funding is provided as a grant for start-up financing. The amount of the grant varies depending on the type of project and is limited to a certain maximum amount, with the funding rate being a maximum of 90 percent of the total eligible expenses. The project duration is also project-specific.

Applicants must meet certain legal and substantive requirements to receive funding. These include submitting a comprehensive concept, endorsement by the municipality, and compliance with budgetary regulations. Special budget restrictions and data protection regulations must also be observed.

The application procedure is clearly structured and requires the submission of complete documents by fixed deadlines. Decisions on applications are made after these deadlines, with the Bavarian Centre for Family and Social Affairs (ZBFS) being responsible for processing the funding procedure.

The funding program is based on a specific guideline from the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labour and Social Affairs and is subject to the general budgetary regulations of the Free State of Bavaria.
