The state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern supported contact and information centers with this program to promote willingness for self-help and facilitate access. The goal was to ensure the quality and stability of the work of self-help groups in the field of health and social self-help. The funding was provided as a non-repayable grant.

Who is Funded

This funding program was aimed at providers of contact and information centers for self-help in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It aimed to strengthen self-help in the health and social sectors and to facilitate access to self-help groups by creating or maintaining the necessary professional, personnel, and material conditions for the providers.

What is Funded

The program funded projects and measures of contact and information centers for self-help that pursued a broad understanding of self-help and supported both health and social self-help. The funding included specific personnel and material expenses.

Type and Scope of Funding

The grants were provided as a non-repayable subsidy in the form of co-financing. The grant covered up to 50 percent of the eligible expenses, with an annual maximum of €22,500 per contact and information center.

Conditions and Requirements

The funding was tied to a series of conditions, including the free and non-discriminatory provision of services, the protection of personal data, and the fulfillment of conceptual, personnel, and spatial requirements. Furthermore, a contribution from the provider and a secured overall financing were obligatory.

Application Procedure

The application for a grant had to be submitted in writing, in duplicate, by October 31 of the previous year to the State Office for Health and Social Affairs, along with a financing and staffing plan and a concept for the contact and information center. Approval was granted at the discretion of the authority within the scope of available budget funds.

The funding program was based on the "Guideline for the Granting of Subsidies to Providers of Contact and Information Centers for Self-Help", an administrative regulation of the Ministry of Economy, Labor and Health Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which was valid from 2019 until the end of 2023.
