Community Task "Improvement of Regional Economic Structure" (GRW-Infra) – Business-related Infrastructure

This funding program targets public territorial corporations and non-profit organizations in the Free State of Saxony that wish to invest in business-related infrastructure or implement regional development measures. The goal is to strengthen the regional economic structure and create sustainable development prospects.

The program supports a variety of measures serving business-related infrastructure and regional development. This includes both investment projects such as the construction of commercial areas and tourism facilities, as well as non-investment services such as regional management and the creation of development concepts.

Funding is granted as a subsidy within the framework of project funding, with the amount of the subsidy depending on the type of project, regional priority, and other conditions. There is a de minimis threshold for investment measures.

The funding is tied to various conditions, including the necessity of the measure for the commercial economy, ensuring overall financing, and compliance with European state aid rules. In addition, certain environmental aspects must be considered in the planning.

The application procedure begins with submitting the application to the Saxon State Directorate before the start of the measure. The granting authority decides at its discretion and with the involvement of relevant specialist departments.

The funding program is legitimized by the Funding Guideline of the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport for the Promotion of Business-Related Infrastructure (GRW Infra Guideline) dated April 23, 2024, and is based on a multitude of national and European legal provisions.
