Extension of Expiring Rent and Occupancy Commitments
The Hamburg State funding program supports the extension of expiring rent and occupancy commitments for subsidized rental housing under the 1st Funding Pathway. It aims to secure affordable housing in Hamburg long-term by providing financial incentives to owners for continuing these commitments. This distinguishes it from new funding programs and focuses on preserving existing social housing.
Who is funded?
The program targets owners and authorized persons of subsidized rental housing in Hamburg to extend expiring rent and occupancy commitments. The goal is to secure affordable housing and provide apartments for households with a housing eligibility certificate.
What is funded?
The extension of rent and occupancy commitments for specific Hamburg rental apartments under the 1st Funding Pathway, whose original commitments are soon expiring, is funded. This measure secures socially committed housing long-term.

For funding, certain legal and rental agreement conditions must be met, including the creation of new commitments, adherence to rent price regulations, and a conversion prohibition.
