Last updated: 14.6.2025
Grant

The state of Saxony-Anhalt supports Chambers of Crafts with funds from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) for the implementation of inter-company apprentice training (ÜLU). The goal is to ensure the quality of vocational training in the skilled trades and to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises. Course costs, boarding school accommodation, and costs for ESF+ participant monitoring are funded.

Who is Funded

Funding is aimed at Chambers of Crafts in Saxony-Anhalt that offer or organize inter-company courses. These chambers can also forward the grants to external organizers. The goal is to improve the quality of training in the skilled trades and adapt professional skills to current developments.

What is Funded

The program funds inter-company apprentice training (ÜLU) in the skilled trades, including course costs and boarding school accommodation for apprentices. The funding is tailored to specific course levels and types and excludes measures that are already publicly funded elsewhere.

Type and Extent of Funding

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant for the financing of course costs and boarding school accommodation, as well as a flat rate for participant monitoring. The amount of the grant varies depending on the course level and type of costs, with specific rates applying to construction trades.

Conditions and Requirements

The application must be submitted before the start of the measure and is tied to specific criteria regarding the training company, the apprentices, and the course implementation. There are regulations for the onward transfer of funds, budget management, and compliance with publicity and retention obligations. The program is subject to comprehensive audit rights and subsidy regulations.

Application Procedure

The application must be submitted annually by December 1st to the Saxony-Anhalt State Administrative Office, with external organizers sending their applications to the responsible Chamber of Crafts by November 1st. The approved grants are paid out in installments. The use of funds must be documented in detail.

The funding program for inter-company apprentice training in the skilled trades in Saxony-Anhalt is based on a specific guideline from the Ministry of Social Affairs. It is also based on a series of EU regulations governing the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) program, as well as state legal provisions of the Saxony-Anhalt State Budget Ordinance and associated administrative regulations.
