The State of Thuringia supports investments to improve competitiveness and sales opportunities in agriculture. This encompasses measures from collection to marketing, with a focus on resource efficiency and innovation.

Who is funded

This funding program is aimed at producer organizations and businesses involved in the processing and marketing of agricultural products based in Thuringia. It seeks to enhance their competitiveness and unlock innovation potential, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

What is funded

The program promotes investments in the processing and marketing of agricultural products, including organic products. Eligible expenses include new construction and expansion of capacities, as well as internal rationalization through conversion and modernization of technical facilities. Excluded, among other things, are replacement purchases and the acquisition of land.

Type and Scope of Funding

Funding is provided in the form of non-repayable grants as project and partial financing. The amount of funding varies depending on the company type and type of products, with eligible expenses per project limited to a maximum of EUR 3 million. Projects with a grant amount of less than EUR 5,000 will not be approved.

Conditions and Requirements

Specific conditions apply to applicants and beneficiaries regarding the investment concept, compliance with environmental standards, and contract design. The program is subject to EU state aid rules, transparency and audit rights, and commitment periods for funded assets.

Application Procedure

The application for investment funding must be submitted to the Thüringer Aufbaubank before the start of the project. Approval is granted after a selection process based on defined criteria. An initial informational meeting is recommended.
