Research for Sustainable Development (FONA3) – Avoidance of Climate-Relevant Process Emissions in Industry (KlimPro-Industrie II) Open
The BMBF program KlimPro-Industry II supports research and development projects in the German basic materials industry that directly contribute to the avoidance of climate-relevant process emissions. It aims to develop innovative technologies and processes up to TRL 5 to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote climate neutrality.
Who is Funded
This funding program targets a wide range of actors from business, science, and the public sector in Germany, the EEA, and Switzerland who are dedicated to researching and developing innovative technologies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in industry.
What is Funded
Highly innovative research and development projects in the field of direct greenhouse gas avoidance in emission-intensive industrial sectors, ranging from basic research to Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5, are funded. Pure CCS processes are excluded.
Type and Extent of Funding
Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant with varying funding rates depending on the applicant and type of research. Projects can run for up to four years, and state aid limits apply to the funding amounts.
