Supporting the clean energy transition of European industry and businesses

Last updated: 15.7.2025
Grant

The LIFE-2025-CET-INDUSTRY program provides crucial support for the clean energy transition and decarbonisation of European industry and businesses. This initiative uniquely bridges the gap between net-zero energy technology demand and supply, while also fostering collaborative energy approaches among companies located in physical proximity. Its main objective is to accelerate sustainable energy adoption and reduce the domestic fossil fuel footprint across the EU.

Who is Funded for Clean Energy Transition

This program targets European industries and businesses, along with technology providers and other key stakeholders, to support their transition towards clean energy and decarbonisation. It emphasizes collaborative approaches and broad geographic participation across EU and associated countries.

What is Funded for Industrial Decarbonisation

The program supports projects focused on optimizing and deploying clean energy technologies within industrial sectors, or fostering energy cooperation among industries in close proximity. Supported activities include the development of business models, capacity building, and strategies for rolling out technical solutions.

Type and Scope of Funding

The LIFE-2025-CET-INDUSTRY provides grants, with a high funding rate of 95% of eligible costs. Projects are expected to request up to EUR 2 million, though other amounts are not precluded.

Conditions and Requirements for LIFE-2025-CET-INDUSTRY

Strict conditions govern proposal submission and project execution, notably requiring a consortium of at least three applicants from three different eligible countries. Proposals must clearly specify whether they address Scope A or Scope B, and should provide convincing letters of support from targeted industrial sectors for Scope A, or demonstrate clear support from key relevant actors for Scope B.

Application Procedure

The application process involves online submission through the Funding & Tenders Portal, with evaluation based on award criteria, scoring, and thresholds outlined in the call document. Support resources, including a helpdesk and online manual, are available to guide applicants through proposal preparation and submission.

The program is governed by a robust legal framework, including specific EU regulations and a multi-annual work programme. Official texts and guidelines are readily available for transparency and compliance.
