Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant within the framework of a modified fixed-rate financing. The federal grant amounts to a maximum of 90 percent of the eligible total expenses. The funding period is the respective calendar year, with the individual use of counseling limited to three years.

Specific conditions apply to the application and project implementation. These include ensuring a nationwide offering, non-profit status, and economical use of funding. Special rules for cooperation in networks and budget specifications must also be observed, as well as the prohibition of better remuneration for personnel.
