NRW.BANK.Home Ownership Open
The NRW.BANK.Home Ownership program supports private individuals in North Rhine-Westphalia with the acquisition, construction, or follow-up financing of owner-occupied residential property. It offers low-interest loans and is tailored to households with specific income limits. The goal is the sustainable promotion of owner-occupied homes in the region.
Who is supported?
The "NRW.BANK.Home Ownership" program is aimed at private individuals in North Rhine-Westphalia who wish to acquire or build owner-occupied residential property. The funding aims to support the creation of owner-occupied residential property through low-interest loans, taking into account specific income limits and geographical criteria.
What is supported?
The program supports the construction and acquisition of owner-occupied residential property as well as the follow-up financing of existing real estate loans. Necessary additional measures directly related to the main project are also eligible for funding. However, movable furnishings as well as holiday and leisure properties are excluded.
Type and Extent of Financing
The funding is offered as a low-interest loan, the amount of which can be up to 50% of the eligible investment costs, or 100% of the remaining capital for follow-up financing. The loan terms are flexible and vary depending on the type of loan and the chosen interest rate fixed period.
Conditions and Requirements
Specific conditions apply for receiving funding regarding income limits, investment location, and existing residential units owned. Only one funding application per property and household is permitted, and the loan must be secured in a customary banking manner.
Application Process
The application for the NRW.BANK loan must be submitted to a house bank before the start of the project, which then forwards it to NRW.BANK. NRW.BANK then commits to the house bank the refinancing of the loan.
Legal Basis
The program is based on the "NRW.BANK.Home Ownership Information Sheet," which sets out the guidelines for granting low-interest loans. It may be supported by refinancing from European or national banks.
