Funding for Organic Farming Methods within the Joint Task "Improvement of Agricultural Structure and Coastal Protection"

This funding program is aimed at active owners of agricultural businesses in Schleswig-Holstein who wish to introduce or maintain organic farming methods. The goal is the sustainable improvement of natural and economic production conditions in accordance with environmental and nature conservation concerns.

The funding program supports the organic management of the entire farm in accordance with EU regulations. Subsidies are granted for the introduction and maintenance of organic farming methods on arable land, permanent grassland, vegetable, flower, ornamental plant, as well as permanent and nursery crop areas. Eligible for funding are the additional costs and income losses incurred by the beneficiaries as a result of the commitments made.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant, the amount of which depends on the type and scope of the measure and the use of the area. There are different rates for the introduction and maintenance of the measures. The commitment periods vary, and there is a de minimis threshold for the annual grant.

The funding is tied to various conditions and obligations, including compliance with relevant EU and national regulations, transparency obligations, and specific de minimis thresholds. Violations of these requirements can lead to reductions or exclusion from funding.

The application procedure is primarily electronic and takes place via the competent external offices of the State Office for Agriculture and Sustainable Rural Development. There are specific annual deadlines for new applications, extension and amendment applications, as well as payment applications.

The funding program is based on specific guidelines of the Ministry for Energy Transition, Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas of the State of Schleswig-Holstein, supplemented by a variety of EU regulations and national laws that regulate financing and implementation within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy.
