The program "ProBeruf – Career Exploration for Gymnasiums" (ProBerufGYM) supports vocational training center providers in Baden-Württemberg who offer practice-oriented career orientation measures for gymnasium students. It aims to enable young people to gain early and practical insights into various career fields, facilitating informed career decisions and emphasizing the equal value of vocational training and academic studies. The program significantly contributes to securing skilled labor in the region.

Who is funded?

The ProBerufGYM funding program targets providers of vocational training centers in Baden-Württemberg who offer practice-oriented career orientation measures for gymnasium students. The goal is to enable students in secondary levels I and II at general education gymnasiums, as well as those from "general education pathways" at vocational gymnasiums, to gain early and well-founded insights into career fields and prepare them for a seamless transition from school to professional life.

What is funded?

The program supports the organization and implementation of practice-oriented career orientation (CO) measures in inter-company and comparable training centers (ÜBS) as well as company internships with mentors. Furthermore, individual competency analyses and innovative concepts for presenting vocational and academic career paths as equivalent options are funded.

Type and Extent of Funding

The "ProBerufGYM" program grants non-repayable subsidies for financing career orientation measures. The amount of funding is fixed per student and per activity. The measures have an annual duration and are to be continued until the end of 2026.

Conditions and Requirements

For participation in the "ProBerufGYM" funding program, applicants and the offered measures must meet certain requirements. These include the proper implementation of career orientation, adherence to group sizes, and specific requirements for collaborations.

Application Procedure

The application procedure for "ProBerufGYM" is organized annually. Applications must be submitted by July 15th and are reviewed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg (WM) according to defined criteria. Retroactive funding is excluded.

The "ProBerufGYM" funding program is based on a specific funding guideline and a federal-state agreement regulating cooperation in career orientation. These documents define the legal framework for the implementation and financing of the measures.
