Employee Qualification for Large Companies

This funding program is aimed at large companies with a business establishment in Saarland that wish to further train their employees through targeted qualification measures. The main goal is to secure jobs and increase the adaptability of employees to technological change.

The program supports further training and continuing education measures for employees of large companies that serve to secure jobs and improve employability. This includes both internal and external qualification projects and dual study programs for further education. Eligible costs are specific personnel costs for instructors, while travel and material costs are excluded.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant for personnel costs. The grant amounts to 40 percent of the eligible costs, with a maximum amount of €2 million per project and a minimum funding amount of €10,000.

Specific conditions apply to the application and project implementation. These include job security, adequate qualification of teaching staff, and compliance with the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER).

The application must generally be submitted in writing to the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Digital Affairs and Energy at least 20 working days before the start of the measure. The granting authority decides on the grant at its discretion within the framework of the available budget.

The funding is based on the Guidelines for the Promotion of Employee Qualification in Large Companies in Saarland. The legal basis is formed by §§ 23 and 44 of the Budget Code of Saarland (LHO) and the EU's General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER).
