Further Training Events to Support the Linguistic and Social Integration of Refugees

The Brandenburg state program targets institutions that offer courses for the linguistic and social integration of refugees, as well as further training events for course instructors. Eligible applicants include districts, independent cities, and institutions and state organizations for further education recognized under the Brandenburg Further Education Act.

Various types of courses and further training events that support the linguistic and social integration of refugees are funded. This includes language courses, offers for acquiring intercultural competencies, and the further education of staff and volunteers.

Funding is provided as a grant in the form of project funding with fixed-rate financing. The amount of the grant varies depending on the type and scope of the measure and is tied to the number of teaching hours and the minimum number of participants.

Various conditions must be met for funding, including the submission of a concept, proof of staff qualifications, and compliance with requirements regarding the number of participants and the cost-free nature of the offers. The measures must be made publicly accessible and advertised.

The application procedure requires the timely submission of formal applications to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. Project selection is made at due discretion and within the limits of available budget funds, with approval only possible for measures that have not yet commenced.

The funding program is based on a specific directive from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the State of Brandenburg, supplemented by the regulations of the State Budget Ordinance and the Brandenburg Further Education Act.
