REGIO AKTIV – Strengthening Families – Opening Perspectives (FAMICO)

The "REGIO AKTIV" program aims to support various groups of people disadvantaged in the labor market, as well as young people in Saxony-Anhalt, in their transition from school to work. The specific FAMICO funding area focuses on integrating employable persons in need from family benefit communities with children into social security-contributory employment or vocational training. Districts and independent cities in Saxony-Anhalt are eligible to apply.

Funding focuses on family integration coaching, which includes intensive, holistic support and strength-oriented counseling for families, as well as guided integration into the labor or training market. Specific measures for activation, stabilization, and qualification, as well as for sustainable professional integration, are supported. Eligible expenses include personnel and material costs, while the purchase of buildings or depreciation is excluded.

The "REGIO AKTIV" program in the FAMICO funding area offers districts and independent cities in Saxony-Anhalt financial support in the form of non-repayable grants. The funding is provided as project funding with co-financing. The funding period can be up to six years, and the individual stay of the funded families is typically up to 18 months plus follow-up support. The exact amount of the grant depends on the specific project.

Funding is tied to specific conditions that must be met by applicants and projects. These include the precise definition of the target group, adherence to specified durations of stay, and the deployment of qualified personnel. There are also detailed requirements for budget planning, especially for financing personnel and indirect expenses. The granting authority reviews the eligibility and worthiness of the projects and makes a decision at its discretion.
