Regional Funding within the Framework of the Joint Task “Improvement of Regional Economic Structure” (GRW) Open
The state of Rhineland-Palatinate supports commercial enterprises, including accommodation establishments, with investment projects in structurally weak funding areas as part of the Joint Task “Improvement of Regional Economic Structure” (GRW). The aim is to strengthen economic development potential and contribute to equivalent living conditions throughout the federal territory. Funding is provided in the form of non-repayable grants.
Who is funded?
The funding program targets commercial enterprises, including accommodation establishments, that plan investment projects in structurally weak funding areas in Rhineland-Palatinate. The goal is to strengthen the regional economy, create and secure jobs, and accelerate transformation processes.
What is funded?
Specific investment projects in commercial enterprises that make a significant contribution to the regional economy are funded. This includes the establishment and expansion of business premises, as well as the diversification of production and fundamental changes to production processes. Certain sectors and cost types are excluded from funding.
Type and Extent of Funding
Support is provided as a non-repayable grant. The amount of funding varies depending on the funding area and company size and can reach up to 35% of eligible costs, provided a minimum investment volume of EUR 20,000 in grant amount is met.
Conditions and Requirements
To receive funding, applicants must meet various legal, financial, and operational requirements. These include ensuring overall financing, fulfilling tax obligations, and meeting specific criteria for job creation or retention. Special rules apply to accommodation establishments and in cases of relocation.
Application Procedure
The application for funding must be submitted to Investitions- und Strukturbank Rheinland-Pfalz (ISB) before the start of the investment project. The decision on approval rests either with the competent ministry or the ISB itself, depending on the grant amount.
Legal Basis
The funding program is based on the administrative regulation of the Ministry for Economy, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture of Rhineland-Palatinate and is closely linked to the Coordination Framework for the Joint Task "Improvement of Regional Economic Structure" (GRW) and relevant EU regulations.
