Reconstruction RLP 2021 – Household Contents for Private Households

This program of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Federal Government is aimed at private households whose household contents were damaged by the flood and heavy rainfall on July 14 and 15, 2021, in selected areas in Rhineland-Palatinate. The aim is to financially support affected individuals in the reconstruction and renewal of their necessary household contents.

Within the framework of this program, the replacement of household contents damaged or destroyed by the flood events in July 2021 is funded. This includes a lump-sum payment for necessary household and home furnishings.

The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant in the form of a lump sum, the amount of which depends on the number of persons in the household. Insurance benefits and other immediate aid will be offset against the grant to avoid over-compensation for damages.

Applicants must meet certain conditions to receive funding, including submitting the application by the deadline and confirming that the damage occurred without fault and was caused by the natural disaster.

The application process for household contents reconstruction aid is primarily to be handled digitally via the Self Service Portal of the Investment and Structure Bank of Rhineland-Palatinate (ISB). Approval is granted at the discretion of the authority and includes advance payments.

The Reconstruction Aid RLP 2021 for household contents is based on a specific administrative regulation of the state government, which, within the framework of the state budget ordinance and the Federal Reconstruction Aid Fund 2021, creates the legal basis for these ex-gratia payments.
