State Technology Funding – F – Other Innovation-Supporting Measures

This funding guideline targets a broad spectrum of actors in the Free State of Saxony who plan innovative measures to strengthen technological performance and cooperation between science and industry. The main goal is to increase the innovation capacity and competitiveness of Saxon companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The funding is tied to an operating establishment in Saxony.

The funding covers a variety of innovative measures that strengthen the technological performance and innovative capacity of the Saxon economy. These include support for participation in European research programs, the operation of innovation networks, the promotion of intellectual property and its exploitation, as well as support for innovative events and investments in research infrastructure.

The State Technology Funding is generally granted as a subsidy, with the funding amount and rate varying depending on the applicant and funding area. Project durations are also specific to the individual measures.

General and specific conditions apply to application submission and project implementation, including legal frameworks, cooperation requirements, and specific budgeting rules to ensure efficient and lawful use of funding.

The application process for the State Technology Funding is predominantly two-stage and involves the submission of project outlines followed by formal applications. Selection is made by the Sächsische Aufbaubank, often in coordination with the State Ministry for Economy, Labour and Transport, based on competitive procedures or individual submissions.
