Who is Funded?

This funding program targets recognized providers of volunteer services in Saxony-Anhalt that support young people participating in a Voluntary Social Year (VSJ), Voluntary Social Year Culture (VSJK), or Voluntary Ecological Year (VEY). The overarching goal is to promote career orientation, the acquisition of key competencies, and the social integration of young people, as well as to contribute to sustainable development.

What is Funded?

The program supports providers with expenses for providing volunteer service positions. This includes financing pocket money, social security contributions, and partly pedagogical support. The funded activities are specifically geared towards the areas of social welfare, culture and monument preservation, and nature and environmental protection, serving the personal and professional development of young people.

Type and Scope of Funding

Funding is provided as a dedicated, non-repayable grant in the form of a fixed-amount financing. The amount of the grant is a lump sum per occupied position per month. Fixed numbers of positions are allocated for the various volunteer services, and the commitment period for participants is generally twelve months.

Conditions and Requirements

Providers of volunteer services wishing to receive funding must meet specific requirements. These include ensuring proper implementation, adhering to a regular duration of twelve months for participants, ensuring a diverse range of deployment sites, and paying a minimum pocket money. Additionally, regulations regarding working hours, vacation, and cooperation with participants must be observed.
