Funding for Agricultural Holdings in Disadvantaged Areas (Compensation Payment)

The program targets owners of agricultural holdings in Schleswig-Holstein, especially in disadvantaged areas. The aim is to compensate for income losses and additional costs, and to promote the continuous use of agricultural land.

Agricultural activities on land in disadvantaged areas are funded, specifically grassland with livestock farming and arable farming/cash crops. The funding compensates for income losses and additional costs arising from the cultivation of these areas.

Funding is provided as an annual subsidy per hectare, the amount of which depends on the land category and the farming system. Different rates apply for grassland with livestock farming and arable farming/cash crops.

Applicants must meet specific land criteria and ensure compliance with national and EU legal provisions. Violations of conditions, overdeclarations, or artificially created prerequisites can lead to reductions or exclusion from funding.

The application must be submitted annually in writing or electronically on an official form to the competent State Office for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas by May 15th. Late submission will lead to reductions or rejection of the application.

The funding program is based on a guideline from the State of Schleswig-Holstein, supplemented by European regulations on the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and national framework regulations. It is also subject to the State Budget Ordinance and the State Administrative Law.
