Smart applications for transport- SESAR-DEMONSTRATORS U - works

This program targets organizations and entities involved in air traffic management and urban air mobility, aiming to accelerate the deployment of U-space services and integrate urban air mobility across Europe. The overarching objective is to ensure safe, interoperable, and efficient air traffic for all airspace users.

This program specifically funds demonstration activities for U-space and urban air mobility, supporting projects from technology readiness levels 7 to 8. It focuses on the market uptake of U1 and U2 U-space services, interoperability with Air Traffic Control, and the application of U-space for Urban Air Mobility.

This program offers grants with a maximum EU contribution of €7 million per proposal, within an indicative available budget of €400 million for the overall call. Projects are typically expected to have a duration of up to 36 months, with final results delivered by the end of Q3 2025.

Applicants must adhere to strict conditions regarding admissibility, eligibility, financial, and operational capacity, as detailed in the comprehensive call document. A key requirement is the active contribution from Airspace Users, and projects must also integrate standardisation and regulatory activities, delivering specific outputs for EASA and EUROCAE.

The application process involved a single-stage submission, where proposals were evaluated based on criteria outlined in the call document. Applicants were notified of the evaluation results following a detailed assessment process.
