Facilities for Strengthening Intergenerational Coexistence and Neighborhood Life (RL Multigenerational)

The State of Lower Saxony funds legal entities under public and private law that operate facilities in Lower Saxony to strengthen intergenerational coexistence and neighborhood life. The funding aims to strengthen community and enable participation in social life.

Personnel and material costs of facilities that promote intergenerational community and neighborhood life are funded. This includes multi-generational houses, self-organized meeting points for parents, and supra-regional measures to support and network these facilities.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant for personnel and material costs. The maximum funding amount is up to 6,000 EUR for most facilities, with special provisions for multi-generational houses co-financed under the federal program, and for mothers' centers.

Various conditions must be met for funding, including orientation towards regional needs, coordination with local social services, and ensuring barrier-free access. Self-organized meeting points must also demonstrate specific opening hours and services.

The application procedure for funding requires the submission of applications and financial plans to the Lower Saxony State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Family. The approving authority decides on the allocation of funds.

The funding is based on the guideline of the Lower Saxony Ministry for Social Affairs, Labor, Health and Equality, supplemented by the administrative regulations on the State Budget Code. These documents define the legal framework and funding requirements.
