Inclusion in Adult Education (Inclusion Guideline)

The "Inclusion in Adult Education" funding program of the State of Thuringia is aimed at recognized adult education institutions and their state organizations. The goal is to improve accessibility and create inclusive educational opportunities for people with disabilities in Thuringia to enable their equal participation.

The "Inclusion in Adult Education" program specifically supports investment and conceptual measures for establishing and optimizing accessibility in adult education institutions. This includes structural adaptations, the acquisition of mobile aids, and the design of barrier-free information offerings.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant within the framework of project funding. The grant can amount to up to 90 percent of the eligible expenses, with investments in building accessibility being funded up to 250,000 euros. The program was limited until the end of 2022.

A co-payment is required for funding, and the funded measures must ensure permanent proper operation. Special structural requirements and regulations for earmarking must be observed.

Applications were to be submitted in writing to the Thuringian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (TMBJS) with a detailed project description. Approval was based on the funding criteria, and funds were disbursed in partial amounts.

The "Inclusion in Adult Education" funding program is based on the "Guideline for the Promotion of Inclusion in Adult Education (Inclusion Guideline)" of the Thuringian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. It is underpinned by relevant state laws and budgetary regulations.
