Recruitment of Apprentices from Third Countries

This funding program of the Free State of Thuringia is aimed at companies located in Thuringia that provide training there. The goal is to secure the demand for skilled workers and strengthen the competitiveness of companies by attracting qualified apprentices from third countries.

The program supports companies in recruiting and integrating apprentices from third countries. The funding includes both the recruitment of individuals with existing German language skills and the combination of recruitment and language training up to B2 level.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant in the form of fixed-amount financing and is granted as De minimis aid. The amount of funding varies depending on the German language skills available at the time of recruitment.

To claim the funding, certain legal, administrative, and operational requirements must be met. This includes specific requirements for recruitment, the implementation of language training, and compliance with De minimis regulations.

Applications for funding must be submitted in writing and in the prescribed form to the Thuringian Ministry of Economy, Science and Digital Society (TMWWDG), prior to the start of the planned measure. Approval is at the discretion of the authority.

The funding is based on the guideline of the Free State of Thuringia for the recruitment of apprentices from third countries and is subject to various superordinate regulations, in particular the EU De minimis Regulation and budgetary provisions of the State of Thuringia.
