Participation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Foreign Trade Fairs (Trade Fair Grant)

The Rhineland-Palatinate Trade Fair Grant primarily targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the commercial sector, agricultural businesses, and freelancers based in Rhineland-Palatinate. The aim is to support these companies in their participation in export-oriented trade fairs, exhibitions, and product presentations abroad.

The RLP Trade Fair Grant supports participation in international trade fairs, exhibitions, and product presentations, whether on-site or virtually. The funding covers specific event costs and is geared towards the market and commercialization phase of products and services.

Financial support is provided as a grant in the form of a fixed-sum financing, the amount of which varies depending on the event location and type. The funding amount is limited to the actual costs incurred.

Various conditions must be met for applying for and receiving the RLP Trade Fair Grant, including formal application requirements, cooperation regulations, and compliance with state aid regulations, particularly the De-minimis Regulation. In addition, there are specific requirements for the presentation of products and services.

The application for the trade fair grant must be submitted to the ISB before the event begins. The selection process is discretionary, taking into account available budgetary funds, and approval is granted by a notice of approval, to which a De minimis certificate is attached.

The RLP Trade Fair Grant is based on a specific administrative regulation of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate and is framed by further state and EU legal provisions that ensure its implementation and compliance with state aid law.
